Learning Outcomes and Application | This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to work with global supply chains. It includes identifying global supply chain products and services, confirming relationships with suppliers and customers, monitoring global supply operations, maintaining supply chain compliance and implementing improvements to global supply chain operations. A supply chain that operates globally will encompass a network of suppliers, manufacturers, warehouses, shipping and transport companies, wholesalers and retailers working across a variety of countries to provide an end product. Successful global supply chains ensure that the right types of goods and materials are sourced, supplied, produced and shipped in the right quantities, to the right locations, at the right time and in the right condition.The unit is applicable to individuals who work in global supply chains. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication. | |||
